It is Gracie and her little guy Jack snoozing. This is the greatest gift I could ever receive. Well worth the effort!
As you can see Gracie is safe and happy. She is being loved and taken care of and has Jack to keep her company! Things happen for a reason... this was meant to be her forever home!

12/16/13 Wilbur
We have had Wilbur 2 months now and don't know what we would do without him. He is feeling better every day, can now jump in and out of the truck, loves his kids and playing with them, plays at the dog park often, and is the biggest snuggle buddy! I think Wilbur has more gifts under the tree than anyone...lol. Thank you for all you do!
Merry Christmas!

They have decided to adopt Gracie. Bob informed us this morning that “Gracie is Home”!
He and his wife will be in touch with you to finalize the adoption in the near future. This is an awesome Christmas Blessing for us all!
Thanks Bob and Rescue Team!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy we were able to find her a new home for the holidays.

10/28/13 Sara the blind Chessie
Sara is such a sweet old gal. Unsure of course because of her blindness. But as soon as you start talking to her she responds in nothing but positive ways. It was so great to see her navigating her way around Ann's back yard when she came in. She was trotting around the yard, wagging her tail, happy. No qualms about any dog that approached her or any human for that matter. What a beautiful sole...
Thank you for saving her. I was so glad to help with her and really glad we took her in. No doubt she would have been euthanized had you not stepped in! Thanks again...

10/24/13 Wilbur
Just wanted to share with you, in case you remember chunky-butt Wilbur. His heartworm treatment went fine and he finally went to his very own home on Monday!!
Hello ladies,
Just wanted to let you know that Wilbur is doing great. The first day he didn't stray too far from Aaron. But when the kids got home from school he never stopped following them around. He went with us to tuck each kid in at night and gave them kisses.
Tuesday he went to work with me for a few hours and then we went to the Vet for a check-up. He wldnt stop digging at his ears. We have some ear drops now, heart worms pills, and feeding schedule (they said he may get more strength in his hind legs if he lost a few pounds). Getting in and out of the trucks is not fun for him. He is working hard to be brave....getting in is good now. Getting out we still have to take our time.
Today was my first time at home alone for a few hours. He was sleeping on his blanket when I got home. Such a good boy :)
We are so happy to have him and love him so much. Thanks for all you do for these animals!!!!
Thanks again,

10/8/13 Sasha's pups
Thought you would get a kick out of seeing Sasha's 10 puppies that were found in a ditch. Sasha is a beautiful, gentle dog and her puppies are so adorable. The pups will be ready for adoption on the 19th. We'll wait until Sasha is ready to be spayed before she goes up for adoption.
9/27/13 Allie
Well Allie is off to Pennsylvania. She is all wags and kisses. She is spending the night in Indiana before he long journey tomorrow. I've sent her off with a bag of kibble, some cookies and a raw hide bone. She is sporting a lovely purple collar and matching leash.
Her hair is growing back and she looks fantastic. She also wanted me to tell you THANK YOU for helping save her life.

Hi Anne,
Dudley is being adopted by his foster family which happens to be one of our board members. Her comment: "I've grown used to his snoring and would miss the sound at night!" Thanks for letting us find a forever home for the big lug.

I am adjusting well, and love it here. Makayla gives me so much love and attention. She spoils me. If it wasn't for you and your love for dogs like me, I would not be where I am today. Thank you for protecting me. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for believing I deserved a home. Thanks for saving my life!! Thank you for all you do for my furry friends in the community. You make a difference, one dog at a time. Wooof!!! Wags and licks!!

4/29/13 Laval
Laval is a pug mix that just arrived. He is at least 5 years old. Laval is a curious little guy who is very outgoing. He enjoys being outside, and is a perfect gardening companion. Laval has a sunny personality, and is a super fun guy to have around. Laval gets along well with kids, and has no problem with other dogs, big or small!
4/15/13 Tia
Update on Tia the Chihuahua - Fortunately, she still loves me...even after this photo shoot!
4/14/13 Maggie
Hi Anne- I discovered Maggie on Petfinder and was able to meet her immediately at a “Meet and Greet” in my town, Rockford. When I walked in the room she came right up to me as if she always knew me. We made an instant connection. Melodee Hoffman from “Cause for Paws” was her foster for 3 weeks and was instrumental in placing Maggie into our lives. You were instrumental in saving and sparing her life in Quincy. Thank you for saving Maggie. She has a sweet and gentle soul. We are so happy to have her. My vow is to protect her and rehab her into a happy and healthy dog. She has been to the groomers and had a “spa treatment” she has been fully vetted with all of her shots, heartworm, flea guard. She is on one of the best dog food brands. All of this since you have seen her last. She will never have a bad, neglected day again. She will live the rest of her life in joy and love, this is my PROMISE! Blessings to you for all you do! Love Maggie May and Leslie
4/5/13 Tucker
We are absolutely loving Tucker. He has gained 15 pounds and his nose is getting "healed" or looks way better. It has been such a pleasure adding this boy to our family. Thank you.'

3/30/13 Jack
Hi Anne - I just wanted to tell you that Jack aka Bear that we got from you has passed. About 5 weeks ago he quit eating and after 3 trips to the vet with several tests and losing 12 pounds they just couldn't figure out why and how to help him. He was a great companion and gave us many years of love. We moved to Indiana Dec 2011 and are living in an apartment complex and he was known by almost everyone. Thank you for rescuing him and letting us have him.

This little girl is gorgeous! I shouldn't have any problem finding her a wonderful new home.
3/20/13 Archie aka Scout
What a cute boy!!
Archie does not like to pose for pictures, but I am still trying to get a good one! He'll look much better once his nose is healed and the stitches are taken out of his head. He seems to be feeling better every day. I am actually seeing some "bounce" to him!

3/18/13 May
From deplorable conditions outside, middle of winter with no shelter, abandoned and STARVING, to this!!!
Just wanted to give you a quick update on May. She is a very sweet and happy girl considering her circumstances. She is super friendly, and is getting along real well with my other dogs and the house cats. I gave her a bath yesterday and she did great. She just needs to gain a lot of weight and she will be a very pretty girl. My husband has given her the name May Day. She is sleeping in a dog crate and has had no accidents in the house, but we do have her under supervision. She appears to have made herself right at home.

I will be happy to help get him to his forever home as he will make someone/family an awesome dog!! Please let me know if you need anything from me.

3/16/13 Sweetie aka Trinity
Hey Anne! I just wanted to thank you so very much for everything you do for those dogs and helping my family find this one! We named her Sweetie because she is just so sweet! It is only our second day with her and she seems to be adjusting well. She is definitely a keeper, we are all attached! It's a really neat story how it all worked out! I took my two year old daughter, Willow with me to look at them and Sweetie was the only dog that Willow pointed at or paid attention to. Sweetie jumped right up in the seat when we left and has been right at home with us since. She is completely house broke! Since it was so nice outside yesterday we were in the backyard all day and evening and if the kids came inside she would whine, but I haven't heard her bark once. She slept with my six year old daughter all night. I just wanted to give you an update and tell you thanks so much!
3/14/13 Brock aka Bach
As you know in dog rescue, it feels so good to make a difference. We couldn’t be happier and THANK YOU for doing what you do!! You saved this guy’s life.
I have also schedule him for a grooming and bath on Tues. before his heartworm treatment starts. I think he will love it!!
Brock gets better and better every day. I absolutely love him to death!!!! He starts his HW treatment tomorrow, so keep him/us in your thoughts.

3/11/13 Elvis
Hi Anne,
Here is a picture of Elvis. His favorite spot is up on the back of the couch. My old Beagle, Charlie, slept with his tongue out, just like that. I took all of the dogs to Michigan this weekend. Elvis had fun on walking on the beach.
I do believe he’s perfectly happy with us. He adjusted so easily, like he’s been there forever. He LOVES going for walks, which he probably didn’t get much, if he was with an elderly person.
We were in Michigan this weekend with a house full of friends, everyone loved him. His very indiscriminate with his affection, and cuddled with anyone who happened to sit on the couch.

2/7/13 Tigger
Hi ladies,
Wanted to share the update on Tigger the Corgi mix. He was fostered by our one IDR+ volunteer in Indianapolis and as you can see in his photo he is doing well, and not going anywhere. He has been officially adopted and happy in his home.
Thank you all for making it happen and putting the word out about the old boy when he came in.

2/1/13 Rex
Hi My Favorite advocate! I am fine. I have a Mom that loves me, and I have Aunts and Uncles that think I am so funny. OK, Mom thinks the funny part is over-rated but it's OK. They love me! I live in a warm place and love fun and have a place that makes me feel ok all the time. Mom says her expectations are called 'NIL' and those are her words! I like words like nice try, maybe once more, think about it. Mom says we have to understand not everybody likes big, joyful, fiesty, exuberant, cheerful, did I mention joyful, fiesty, exuberant, cheerful dogs and jumping on people is not my best trick! Oh darn, that's what I am! Please, I am only a dog!
1/26/13 Charlie
This boy is a doll. He is so loving and curls up with me at night. Dogs still afraid of him but time is all they need. He pottys in his box like a good boy all the time. My aunt who is not a cat fan loves him. He is one cuddlebug. He loves to be held.
Thanks again for putting us together.
Thanks again for putting us together.
1/17/13 Dugan
Dugan is doing very well. He has adapted to his new home with little trouble. We are having a good time at the park. He hasn't met too many other dogs yet, but seems a bit wary when he does.
When I take Dugan to the park, he runs off leash. He is very good about staying close to me. We just came back from the park and there were some other dogs there, but he was not that interested. He really likes to run and chase after the ball. We spend about an hour at the park twice a day. He is doing fine on the leash when we walk around the neighborhood. I am still using the harness, I am extremely greatful for it, it works very well Dugan. Thanks again for all your good work, Kay

1/7/13 Stevie
He’s living the life of Riley in New Mexico for the winter and spends his summers in Eagle River, WI. Lucky dog!!!
Stevie has adjusted very well, he wants to be by my side constantly. He loves the 1.5 acre fenced in yard, and wants to be outside with us whenever we are outside working or enjoying the weather. He especially enjoys chasing lizards!

1/3/13 Wallace 7 Gromit
Great news! Morpheous and Eros (they have new names now) got adopted yesterday together to a wonderful family in Cedar Rapids…..it didn’t take too long for them to get adopted and we really pushed to keep them together…we thought it would really be the best for them, since they’ve been together for 8 months (their whole lives) and that still didn’t delay them getting adopted…angels are sure looking down on them!
Thank you so much for saving their lives, it’s the outcomes like this that makes it all worthwhile!

1/3/13 Kessler aka Prophet
Just wanted to let you know about the black lab my nephew has . . originally named Kessler, now named “Prophet.” Prophet was fearful of being crated and going into Ian’s bedroom, so Ian slept on the couch next to Prophet’s crate for 3 nights while he adjusted. Then the crate was moved to the bedroom and all is good. He was taken into the vet for a check-up and making arrangements for neutering, shots, chipping and the like when it was discovered that Prophet had a broken nail on his front paw that had to be dug out and he’s wearing a halo. He was also neutered and fully vetted yesterday and is resting comfortably at home. Ian wanted me to thank you for making this possible, as the two have truly bonded and when Prophet first arrived he was fearful and wouldn’t let you go near his collar or neck for any reason so he wore his leash for about a week . . . he’s now trusting of Ian. Thanks Anne for trusting me to find a good home . . . I do appreciate your help and Ian is over the moon!
